Internet

The largest form of computer network is called internet. In 1969, the advanced research projects agency created a network called ARPANT. Originally, this network was very small sized in which only three universities and government agencies were connected. Later other universities and agencies were also connected to this network. It became so large that certain rules for sending and receiving information needed. That is called protocols. Day by day it became global network by connecting millions of computers in the world. In the internet thousands of computers worldwide network such as LAN, WAN, MAN and SAN are connected through the transmission control protocol/ Internet Protocols.

There are the many advantages of Internet. Some of them are data and information can be shared, hardware devices such as printer, harddisk, modem, etc can be shared, mass data processing in computer is cheaper, the communication in computer network will be efficient, easy and effective such as email, chatting etc. It is a huge source of information because we can easily find information about anything which we want on the internet. It can be used as storage of knowledge. It can be used in teaching, learning and programming as well. Nowadays we can find e-library on the internet.

The internet can be used for the purpose of business and banking sector, too. We can find many online shopping website from which we can buy and sell goods by sitting in a single room. It is also called ecommerce. In fact the business on the internet is economical because we don’t need shops and showrooms. Not only this, internet has been useful for the online banking sector, too. For example banking transactions can be done through the Internet. It had became the means of connecting people through the various social networking sites applications such as facebook, messengers, yohoo, g-mail, skpe, viber, whatsapp etc. It helps people to communicate various people from one place to another place.

There is not only the advantages of Internet, there is also the disadvantages of the Internet. It poses the great threat to the information security because of the hacker’s activities. Cyber crime is increasing. The overuse of the internet provides many health problems such as eye problems, weight gain, back problems etc. There is the fast and easy transmission of virus due to internet.

So the proper use internet provides many benefits and misuse of the internet can harm us very badly. Therefore, we should not use internet for bad works.

Facebook : a social network

Information technology has brought great changes in field of information and communicable. There are many social network such as twitter, massanger, whatsapp, etc. Among them facebook is one of the famous social network. It was developed by mark zukerberg and its website was launched in February 2004 A.D. Facebook user creates their personal account and add other users as a friends and exchange their message.

Facebook user create profiles with photos, list of personal interest, contact information, and other personal information, too. They can communicate with their friends, both real and virtual, through private or public messages. One of the most popular application of the facebook is the photos application where user can upload unlimited numbers of the photos. Similarly, another feature of the photos application is the ability to tag or label users in a photo.

Although facebook has been widely used all over the world, but in some countries such as China, Vietnam, Iran, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Syria, etc facebook has been prohibited on its access on the different bases. For instance, on the basis of Anti-Islamic and religious discrimination content allowed by facebook, it was banned in some Islamic countries such as Iran and Pakistan. In the addition, the use of facebook has been prohibited on the some workplaces in all over the world as it disturbs the workers in their duties.

Facebook provides us benefits. For example it helps users to make friends who have never been introduced before. By, the result they can make many friends in life and can exchange their interest, desire, opinions, information, happiness and sarrow. It leads the user towards the unity. We can keep ourselves in touch with our relatives and family members who are geographically far away from us. It helps the people to come closer.

Despite some advantages, facebook certainly owns some negative effects as well. It may be over used or misused by others. If the student  use facebook more than required, it leads them toward the failure in their study.  So, we should not use facebook more than required. If we use facebook properly then we can get many advantages but if we misuse it, it will harm us very badly.
